Built inside a working studio
Cadence SM didn't start as a startup idea. It started as a double-bass studio's Tuesday problem: a scheduling spreadsheet, an invoicing tool, a practice-log app, and a group text — four systems that didn't talk to each other, reconciled by hand, badly, at 11pm.
Studio #1 runs on it every day
So we built the system we wished existed, inside the studio that needed it. Studio #1 runs on Cadence SM every day — real students, real parents, real invoices. When a feature is annoying, a working teacher feels it the same week and it gets fixed. That feedback loop is the whole product philosophy: the practice timer, the makeup-token system, the per-student message channels — each exists because a real studio needed it, not because a roadmap said so.
The name comes from music: a cadence is the moment a phrase resolves — tension, then rest. That's what studio software should do to a teaching week. (The SM keeps the studio in the name: Studio Manager.)
